Elliott Young
Elliott Young begins his first year as a volunteer Saluki track coach in 2001. Young, an all around athlete and recent former SIU decathalete, will work with the decathaletes and all athletes training in the ten decathalon events. Young is no stranger to success as a member of the SIU track program, earning All-MVC honors in 1997 &1999. Young won the MVC decathalon title in 1999 and finished second in the javelin at the same meet. In 1997, Young finished second in the javelin at the MVC Championships. In addition to winning an MVC title at SIU, Young has the top 60 meter hurdle time (8.16) in school history, is third on the decathalon (7,379 points), fifth on the javelin (201-1), and seventh on the 60 meter sprint (7.18) top ten performers list. Elliott Young is from Memphis, Tennessee, where he attended Hillcrest High School. |
