One of three returnees from 2004-05, and is the only senior on this year's squad...became a lot stronger since the end of last season...a good shooter who works hard..is SIU's active career leader in scoring (221 pts.), free throw shooting (.758, 25-33), assists (102) and steals (32) entering her final season.
2004-05:Made 19 starts as SIU's fourth-leading scorer (5.0 ppg)...ranked second on the team in assists (59) and third in steals (25)...was the Salukis' best free throw shooter, hitting 16-of-19 attempts for a .842 percentage...ranked second on the team with 22 three-pointers...averaged 4.2 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists in conference play...scored 10 or more points in three-straight games (12/1-11)...included in that span was a career-high 18 points against Saint Louis (12/7/04)...pulled down a career-high seven rebounds at Stetson (12/21/04)...knocked down three 3-pointers in a game for the third time in her career vs. Drake (1/2/05)...led SIU in scoring on back-to-back occasions with 18 points vs. Saint Louis (12/7/04) and 15 points at Southern Miss (12/11/04).
2003-04:Saw action in 25 games, while making four starts...averaged 3.3 points and 1.2 rebounds...knocked down 14 treys and went 8-of-12 at the free throw line...ranked second on the team with 41 assists...scored double figures on four occasions.
2002-03:Averaged just 3.7 minutes a game over 13 contests, where she pulled down three rebounds, dished out two assists and had one steal...made her only field goal of the season against Indiana State (1/25/03)...also knocked down one free throw at Tennessee State (12/4/02).
As a Prep:Attended Snider High School, where she helped lead her team to a 23-3 record and second-place finish in 4A as a junior...a honorable mention all-state and second-team all-conference pick...averaged 16.8 points a game over her four prep years.
Personal:Full name is Amy Sue Hayden...majors in Elementary Education...born July 4, 1983...daughter of Don Hayden and Lori FitzWilliam...has two sisters, Jill and Molly.
