CARBONDALE, Ill. - Carlai Moore was named this week's Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer-of-the-Week, the league announced today. It's the second time this season that she has garnered the honor.

Moore averaged 20 points in two games, as Southern Illinois swept Creighton and Drake at home for the first time since 1996.

A native of Kansas City, Kan., she opened the week against Creighton, hitting 12-of-19 (.632) field goals and 2-of-3 free throws en route to 26 points, her fourth-straight 20-plus point effort at the time. She also added five assists against the Bluejays.

Two days later, Moore turned around to pitch in 14 points on 6-of-12 (.500) from the field and 2-of-2 from the stripe. She also pulled down five rebounds, gathered one block and collected three steals on the week.

Moore was also named the league's Newcomer-of-the-Week on Jan. 3.
