CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Missouri Valley Conference has selected its final regular-season women's basketball games for television as part of the league's Wildcard Weekend on FSN Midwest, Fox College Sports and Comcast SportsNet on February 23-25, Commissioner Doug Elgin announced today.

On Friday, February 23, Southern Illinois, currently in second place with an 8-1 record in the MVC standings, will entertain Evansville at the SIU Arena in Carbondale, Ill., at 7:30 p.m. Central. The game, which was originally scheduled for Sunday, February 25, was moved to accommodate the league's television package.

"It's befitting that we have a close to our women's basketball title chase worthy of our 100th season," said Commissioner Elgin. "This is the second-consecutive year that we have utilized the wildcard format to select our final regular-season women's basketball games for television on FSN Midwest, and we have a great line-up of telecasts."

"We are grateful to coaches Tricia Cullop (UE) and Dana Eikenberg (SIU) and the athletic administrations at both schools, namely athletics directors Bill McGillis (UE) and Mario Moccia (SIU), for allowing us to move the Evansville at Southern Illinois game to accommodate our television package," Elgin added.

Using the wildcard model, the league -- through its television partners FSN Midwest, Fox College Sports and Comcast SportsNet -- reserves clearance windows on February dates in the fall of each academic year and waits until the midpoint of both the men's and women's basketball seasons to determine its final regular-season telecasts for both genders.

The SIU, UE match up will be a designated "Pink Out" of the SIU Arena for breast cancer awareness sponsored by Southern Illinois Healthcare (SIH). Cancer survivors will be honored at halftime.
