CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Southern Illinois women's basketball coach Cindy Stein announced Monday that Kiley Gorski has signed to play for the Salukis in 2013.

Stein's first signee since taking the reins of the program, Gorski is the daughter of SIU associate head coach Andrea Gorski. The 5-foot-10 guard/forward comes to Southern from Ladywood High School in Livonia, Mich.

"I am extremely excited about the addition to Kiley to our SIU family. She is a talented young lady and will be very instrumental in our next four years as a program," Stein said. "Kiley brings court savvy, physical toughness and high basketball IQ. She is also an excellent 3-point shooter and can go inside or out. "

Gorski played two full varsity seasons before suffering a season-ending injury one game into her senior season. She averaged 13 points and 8.2 rebounds per game as a junior, leading the Blazers to a second-consecutive district championship. She averaged 8.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game as a sophomore, helping Ladywood to a district title and the finals of the Detroit Catholic League.

Gorski was named All-Detroit Catholic League following her junior season in addition to being named All-Area and All-State by the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan. She also earned Academic All-State honors and was named All-Academic by the BCAM following her junior year.

In addition to her high school achievements, Gorski also played for her mother's Michigan Celtics AAU team that was a two-time state runner-up.
