Entering her first year as an assistant coach of the Saluki women’s golf team is Alison Hiller.
Hiller, a native of Atlanta, Ga., graduated from SIU in 2002 after a remarkable playing career which saw her re-write the Saluki record books.
Playing a total of 95 rounds over four years, she recorded 55 in the 70s and two in the 60s. Her mark of 68 last season currently ranks as the lowest single round score in school history.
Most importantly, however, Hiller qualified for the 2002 NCAA Women’s Golf Central Regional, becoming the first Saluki to accomplish the feat since 1978.
An All-Missouri Valley Conference and All-MVC Scholar-Athlete pick, Hiller also qualified for the U.S. Women’s Golf Amateur Championship in the summer of 2000, and has posted several individual titles throughout her career.
