Carbondale, Ill. - The Southern Illinois University women's golf team will head to Florida over spring break to compete in two tournaments.

The Salukis will compete in the Spalding Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational in Orlando, Fla. on March 11th and 12th. Rollins College will be the host school for the 27th annual event.

After SIU completes that tournament they will travel west to Tampa, Fla. to hit the links at the Snowbird Classic on March 14th and 15th. The 16th annual event will be hosted by Northern Illinois University. The Salukis finished second out of 17 teams last year at the classic, where they shot a two round score of 633.

SIU hasn't competed in nearly a month. The Dawgs last tournament was the Lady Aztec Invitational (Feb. 17-18), in San Diego, Calif., where they finished in 15th place.

The Salukis are led by senior Alison Hiller who recorded a two round score of 163 at the Lady Aztec Invitational. Sophomore Megan Tarrolly (164) and junior Jennifer Shutt (168) also scored well in the San Diego tournament.

Hiller, Tarrolly, and Shutt, the top three scorers of the spring, are all expected to score well in both tournaments.
