CARBONDALE, Ill. - After winning the Bulldog Round-Robin last weekend, the Southern Illinois softball team will look to repeat its winning ways as they travel to the Moe's Blue and Green Invite.
The Salukis (5-3) will play five games in three days in Fort Myers, Fla. as they take on St. Francis (PA) and University of Maryland-Baltimore County (UMBC) on Friday followed by matchups with Albany (NY) and host Florida Gulf Coast University Saturday.
To wrap up the tournament, the Salukis will face Big Ten foe Iowa on Sunday morning.
Last weekend at the Bulldog Round-Robin in Starkville, Miss. the Salukis went 3-1 overall as they beat Mississippi State to win the tournament.
Michelle Bradley, who held a .333 batting average (4-for-12) in three games played with a double and home run, was named MVP of the tournament. Her home run against Mississippi State sparked a seven-run sixth inning for the Salukis to defeat the Bulldogs on their home field in the tournament championship.
