CARBONDALE, Ill.— The Southern Illinois softball team capped off its fall season Sunday by splitting a pair of games at the Illinois Collegiate Softball Championship in Bloomington, Ill.
The Salukis lost to Missouri Valley Conference foe Illinois State 4-3 in its first game of the day before topping Illinois-Chicago 7-1 in the finale.
Southern opens the 2013 season Feb. 8-10 at the Dot Richardson National Collegiate Invitational in Clermont, Fla.
