    Dubai, United Arab EmiratesDubai, United Arab Emirates - Representing the United States and Southern Illinois University, Saluki distance swimmer Briley Bergen finished 20th out of 24 competitors in the 10K at the World Open Water Championships Monday.

    Bergen finished less than three minutes behind Germany's Britta Kamrau, who won the event with a time of 2:07:51.7.

    A junior from Tampa, Fla, Bergen is making her fourth appearance at the World Championships. She is one of America's top open water swimmers, winning 11 national titles in the 10K, 15K, and 25K, since joining the U.S. Open Water National Team in 1997.

    Bergen will also compete in the 25K on Wednesday.
