Mawisire begins her first season as an assistant coach with the Salukis after spending one season with the team. 2008-09: Recorded an impressive 21-1 record in singles play en route to being named 2009 MVC Player of the Year...In doubles, Mawisire posted a 19-3 record, as she was paired with current graduate assistant coach Ame Blacketer. Prior to SIU: Spent two and a half years at Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, KY...Finished in the semifinals of the NAIA National Tennis Championships from 2006-2008...Held NAIA rankings of No. 9 in singles and No. 1 in doubles... Was a singles and doubles NAIA All-American...Posted a 42-5 record in singles and 55-6 record in doubles at Lindsey Wilson. High School: Held No. 78 ranking in the International Tennis Federation Juniors before transferring to Lindsey Wilson College...Won her country's first medal, a silver medal, in women's singles in the 2003 All-African games Personal: Attended Clapham High School in Zimbabwe...Daughter of Zebedia and Dumasi Mawisire....Has three sisters Vimbai (21) - who plays for Oklahoma Christian, Tafadzwa (14), and Takudzwa (8). |
