Louisville, Ky.- The Southern Illinois women's tennis team opened up its 2013 campaign with a 6-1 loss to the University of Louisville.

The Salukis were swept by the Cardinals in doubles. No. 36 ranked Melanie Delsart and Anastacia Simons fell to Louisville's Manuela Velasquez and Julia Fellerhoff (8-3) at the No. 1 slot, while Natasha Tomishima and Jennifer Dien were bested by Mandy brown and Stefanie Villajuan (8-5) at the No. 3 slot.

Senior Jennifer Dien recorded the lone win for the Salukis, defeating Becky Bodine (1-6, 6-3, 10-6) at the No. 5 spot, while Delsart took No. 84 ranked Julia Fellerhoff to three sets falling (6-3, 4-6, 10-1) in a super tie-breaker.

"After yesterday's match was canceled with Lindsey Wilson I still think we played really well," said head coach Audra Nothwehr. "Louisville was playing their third match as we were playing our first."
