ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Southern Illinois women's tennis team rolled to its eighth straight win today versus Quinnipiac, 7-0.

SIU (8-1) wasted no time taking the doubles point from Quinnipiac as Jennifer Dien and Natasha Tomishima won 9-8 at flight No. 2 while Korey Love and Anita Lee won 8-2 at the No. 3 spot. Melanie Delsart and Anastacia Simons continue their hot streak at flight No. 1, besting their Bobcat counterparts 8-6.

In singles action Southern took all six matches. Delsart defeated Rachel Cantor (6-1, 7-6) at No. 1 while Tomishima bested Jacqueline Raynor (7-5, 6-2) at the No. 2 position. Lee bounced back at the No. 3 slot with a (6-1, 6-4) win and Dien won her match (3-6, 6-4, 1-0) to notch her eighth straight dual match win. Ariadna Cairo Baza won (6-4, 2-6, 1-0) at No. 5 and Gisela Cairo Baza took flight No. 6 with a (6-4, 6-2) win over Ariana Launie.

"Some of our matches were pretty close and I am proud of how we stayed aggressive through the pressure points," said head coach Audra Nothwehr. "We showed our mental toughness by winning all four of our tiebreakers."

The Saukis will play Florida Atlantic on Friday with first serve scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
