JONESBORO, Ark. -- The Southern Illinois women's tennis team couldn't bounce back as it dropped its second match in two days to Arkansas State, 4-3.

The Salukis (10-3) battled low temperatures and windy conditions today. SIU took the doubles point from the Redwolves (4-5) as Korey Love and Anita Lee defeated their ASU counterparts 8-1 at the No. 3 spot. Natasha Tomishima and Jennifer Dien won 8-3 in flight No. 2 doubles.

The match came down to the No. 3 spot where Anita Lee fell to Biljana Miloshevska in three sets (6-2, 7-6, 6-4). SIU picked up wins from Tomishima and Anastacia Simons as well. Tomishima won (6-2, 2-6, 6-3) at flight No. 2 while Simons defeated Sofia Krsmanovic (7-6(6), 6-4) at the No. 6 spot.

"We had our chances in today's match, but we just came up short," said head coach Audra Nothwehr.

The Salukis will take the court next on Wednesday, Mar. 27 when they travel to SIU Edwardsville. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
