Cookeville, Tenn.-The Southern Illinois women's tennis team won their sixth match in a row as it defeated Tennessee Tech 5-2 on Wednesday.
The Salukis picked up the doubles point heading into singles play with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles and a big win by Jessica Flannery helped put the victory away for the Salukis.
Flannery was down 0-5 in the first set against Tatiana Denezhkina, but battled her way back to win the set 7-5 and eventually the match (7-5, 6-3).
"Give all the credit to Jessica today, she played really tough," Head coach Audra Nothwehr said.
The Salukis will travel to Drake on Saturday and Northern Iowa on Sunday to face Missouri Valley Conference opponents.
