    MARTIN, Tenn.- The Southern Illinois women's tennis team took to the road today, defeating UT-Martin, 6-1, completing non-conference play this season.

    The Salukis (13-4, 2-1 MVC) saw victories at the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles slots today against the Skyhawks (7-10). Melanie Delsart and Korey Love picked up their fourth win in a row, defeating their opponents, 8-4. Freshman Ariadna Cairo Baza and Gisela Cairo Baza picked up the doubles point for Southern winning their match, 8-3.

    "We played pretty well overall," said head coach Audra Nothwehr. "We want to touch-up on a few things before we face Drake this weekend."

    In singles play SIU continued its dominance winning five of six matches. Delsart defeated Preseason OVC Player of the Year, Jodie Tiley, 6-4, 6-1 at the No 1 slot. Jennifer Dien defeated her counterpart 6-3, 7-5 at the No. 2 slot. Natasha Tomishima won her match 6-0, 7-5 at the No. 3 spot. Korey Love defeated Katie McCall 6-2, 6-0 to pick up her second win in three tries this spring.

    The Salukis return home this weekend for MVC play, when Drake visits on Saturday. First match is slated for 1 p.m.
