Carbondale, Ill.-The Southern Illinois women's tennis team couldn't pull off an Easter day victory as they dropped its match to No. 71 Wichita State, 6-1.
The Salukis saw their lone victory in singles at No. 1 as Fadzai Mawisire defeated Anna Egorova 6-3, 6-0.
With the win, Mawisire moved into 10th all time on the Salukis record list of singles victories in a spring season at 17 wins so far this season.
"Doubles play was good for us but singles wise Wichita State is very strong,"Head coach Audra Nothwehr said.
The Salukis will return to action on Friday as they begin the final homestand of the season when they host Indiana State beginning at 3 p.m.
