    DES MOINES, Iowa -- The Southern Illinois women's tennis team traveled to Des Moines to take on Drake (9-9, 2-2 MVC) earlier today, defeating the Bulldogs, 4-3.

    The Salukis picked up their fourth win in-a-row.

    Southern (15-3, 4-0 MVC) took the doubles point by winning all three matches. Melanie Delsart and Anastacia Simons their DU opponents 8-4 while Korey Love and Anita Lee won their 12th straight match, with a 8-4 win over Ante Mariel and Ali Patterson.

    Southern won three singles matches to take the match from Drake. Lee finished off Lea Kozulic at the No. 3 spot (4-6, 6-3, 6-0) to clinch the match for SIU. Natasha Tomishima improved to 13-4 on the season with a (6-3, 6-2) win at the No. 2 spot.

    Senior Melanie Delsart won her fifth straight match after besting Klavdija Rebol at the No. 1 spot (6-2, 3-6, 6-3).

    The Salukis will have a quick turnaround as they travel to Northern Iowa tomorrow to to finish their weekend road trip of the MVC.
