    CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The Southern Illinois men's and women's tennis programs teams have announced their camp dates for the summer of 2013.

    Saluki Tennis Academy (June 10-13)
    Open to players age 12 and up of any skill level from beginner to advanced. The Saluki Tennis Academy is designed to take your game to the next level whether you are a beginner looking to improve your consistency or an advanced tournament player wanting to know what it takes to win matches in tournaments. We will drill in groups based on skill level and incorporate stroke technique, match play, and strategy for both singles and doubles.

    Saluki Tennis Camp (June 17-20)
    Open to players entering grades 3-12. This is a commuter camp only. Lunch will be catered in everyday and is included in the cost. Includes almost 6 hours a day of tennis instruction, drills, strategy and singles and doubles match play. This is camp is full of great tactics and instruction to advance your play to the competitive high school or college level. All levels are welcome. We work in groups according to level. Player to coach ratio 4:1.

    Saluki 12 & Under Camp (June 24-28)
    Also a commuter camp. This camp is for kids ages 12 and under that are in the beginning stages of learning techniques of the strokes and are not tournament players yet. We will be learning the rules of the game, learning proper technique and having a lot of fun. Dependent on student skill level, US Open Orange Balls are available. These balls are specially made so that it doesn’t bounce over the kids’ heads, to promote good technique.
