    The Southern Illinois University women's tennis team was recognized as a Division I All-Academic team by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), and five team members were selected as scholar-athletes.

    SIU's women's tennis team has a combined 3.624 GPA, which is the highest among the school's 18 varsity sports. Anita Lee, Korey Love, Lauren Hoekstra, Meagan Monaghan and Polina Dozortseva were named to the Scholar-Athlete team.

    The ITA is the governing body of college tennis, overseeing men's and women's varsity tennis at all levels - NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA and Junior/Community College.
