    LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The Southern Illinois University women's tennis team concluded play at the UNLV Invitational earlier today in Las Vegas, picking up four singles wins on the final day of play.

    The event featured seven flights of singles and four flights of doubles, included individuals from eight schools.

    Juniors Gisela Cairo Baza (Flight No. 4) and Ariadna Cairo Baza (Flight No. 3) both picked up quarterfinal wins in their flights, before falling in the semifinal round.

    Giesla Cairo Baza defeated Denise Van Der Ben of New Mexico State in the consolation match of Flight No. 4, (6-1, 6-2) for her second singles win of the invitational.

    In doubles action Anita Lee and Polina Dozortseva picked up a pair of wins in Flight No. 2, besting their Long Beach State counterparts, 8-6 and a duo from North American University, 8-6.

    Gisela and Ariadna Cairo Baza won two matches at Flight No. 3 while Meagan Monaghan and Korey Love added a win at Flight No. 1.

    The Salukis will be back in action this weekend when they host the SIU Fall Classic at University Courts.
