CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois women's tennis team will travel to Norman, Okla. to compete in the ITA Central Region Championships Oct. 17-21 at the Headington Family Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Oklahoma.

The tournament begins Thursday and will feature more than 100 athletes from 22 universities including Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State, Oklahoma State and Wichita State, along with six ranked players in the field. The main draw will run from Oct. 18-21. Qualifying will begin on Thursday morning at 8 a.m.

"This will be a real test for us and show us where we are so far," said head coach Audra Anderson.

Last season, Melanie Delsart and Anastacia Simons advanced to the semifinals of the doubles main draw for the first time in school history, before falling to a Kansas State duo (8-1).
