    CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois University women's tennis coach Audra Nothwehr announced today the signing of Meagan Monaghan for the 2013-14 season.

    Monaghan, an incoming freshman from Denver, Colo., has a 26-1 record at Denver South High School, where she finished 12-0 her junior year and 7-0 during her sophomore season. She was the team MVP and city champion both years, and won the the 4A Colorado State Championship as a sophomore.

    “We are really excited to have Meagan as a Saluki," said head coach Audra Nothwehr. "She has some great experience behind her, having won the Colorado High School State Singles title as a sophomore. She is also a very smart player who moves her opponent around the court, as well as in the classroom, which is a great bonus."
