    Carbondale, Ill. - SIU women's tennis coach Audra Nothwehr announced the signing of Jennifer Dien for the 2009-10 season.

    Dein is a native of Overland Park, Kan. where she will graduate in May from Shawnee Mission West.

    During her time at Shawnee Mission West, she was the Kansas 6A state doubles runner up in `06-`07 while capturing third place in '06.

    Dien was also named first team All-State and first team in the Sunflower League in '06 while she placed third in the Kansas 6A doubles regional in '07 and is ranked No. 186 amongst 2009 seniors by Tennisrecruting.net.

    "She brings a lot of positive attributes to the Saluki team. She's extremely positive on the court, performs well under pressure, and is very energetic and self-motivating," Nothwehr said.
