A mainstay in the Saluki lineup at outside hitter during 2004 and the beginning of the 2005 season, Pulliam's career was cut short by a back injury.

In 2005, she played in 20 matches, averaging 2.29 kills per game and 1.56 digs. In 2004, she earned 2004 MVC Scholar-Athlete honorable mention team accolades while playing in all 30 matches, starting 26 and playing in 99 games. Pulliam led the team in kills per game (2.83), and was second on the team in kills (280) and total attempts (779). She boasted a career-best 21 kills against Missouri State (9/17) and added 12 assists to record one of eight career double-doubles.

Pulliam graduated from Rockford Lutheran High School in 2003 where she played club ball for Club Fusion. She is currently majoring in finance with a minor in accounting. At SIU, she has been named to the Dean's List all six semesters. She currently carries a 3.88 cumulative grade point average. Jene' was born on March 11, 1985 in Rockford, Ill., the daughter of Gene and Kathy Pulliam. She has two brothers, Anthony and Darnell.
