    This week in Saluki Volleyball:

    Southern Illinois --8-12 overall, 1-8 in MVC:
    Fri., Oct. 20 vs. Indiana St. (9-11, 3-6 in MVC) - 7 p.m.
    Sat., Oct. 21 vs. Illinois St. (10-6, 7-2 in MVC) - 7 p.m.

    SIU Volleyball Notes:

  • Kristie Kemner had a double-double performance against Bradley on Saturday, October 14. Kemner racked up 20 kills and 14 digs in the match. Over the weekend, she averaged 15 kills, 10 digs, 3 assists, an ace, and a block assist.

  • Megan Baumstark (51 assists, 9 digs, 3 block assists) had a huge night against Bradley. For the weekend, she averaged 36.5 assists, 5 digs, 3.5 kills and 3 blocks. Baumstark hit .500 (7 kills, 1 error, 12 attempts) in two matches. Jenny Noel also played well against Bradley with 8 kills, 14 digs, 6 block assists, and an ace.

  • The Salukis begin the second half of conference play in hopes of ending a four game losing streak against seventh place Indiana State and third place Illinois State.

  • Southern Illinois is 26-9-1 all-time against Indiana State and 4-43-1 against Illinois State. The Salukis lost to both schools earlier this season in three games.

  • As a team, SIU is sixth in overall block average (2.32 per game) and sixth in overall aces (1.67 per game).

  • Among conference members in overall matches, Kristie Kemner is second in aces (.55 per game) and fifth (3.7 per game) in kill average. Tara Cains is sixth (.282) in hitting percentage. Megan Baumstark is sixth (9.6 per game) in assists.

  • In conference play, Megan Baumstark is sixth (10.28 per game) in assists and Kristie Kemner is seventh (3.7 per game) in kill average.

  • Kristie Kemner leads the Salukis in kills (240), kills per game (3.7), digs (171), digs per game (2.63), total attacks (601), and service aces (36). Jenny Noel leads SIU in block assists (63), total blocks (76), and blocks per game (1.1). Lindsey Schultz is tops in solo blocks (15). Megan Baumstark is the top Saluki in assists (642), and assists per game (9.6). Tara Cains leads the SIU in hitting percentage (.282).

  • SIU will host Indiana State on Oct. 20, and Illinois State on Oct. 21 in Davies Gym at 7 p.m. The dawgs follow the home stand with road games at Wichita St. (Oct. 27), SW Missouri St. (Oct. 28), and Arkansas (Oct. 30).
