    Southern Illinois University --- 8--21 overall, 1-16 in MVC:
    Thurs., Nov. 16 vs. Evansville (16-14, 9-8 in MVC) - 7 p.m.

    SIU Volleyball Notes:

  • A number of Salukis played well against Bradley and Northern Iowa. Jenny Noel led the Salukis by averaging a double-double (11 kills, 11 digs, 3 block assists, 2 assists) per match. Noel hit .400 (11 kills, 3 errors, 20 attempts) against Northern Iowa and .307 (22 kills, 5 errors, 52 attempts) for the weekend.

  • Lindsey Schultz had a great weekend, hitting .428 (26 kills, 5 errors, 49 attempts) with 5 block assists and a solo block. Schultz hit an amazing .450 (11 kills, 2 errors, 20 attempts) against MVC leader Northern Iowa.

  • Kristie Kemner averaged a double-double (10 kills, 16.5 digs) per match, including a big night (15 kills, 18 digs) against Bradley. Megan Baumstark averaged 49 assists, 8.5 digs, and two block assists per match, including a double-double (57 assists, 11 digs) against Bradley.

  • SIU looks to snap a school record thirteen match losing streak, including twelve straight MVC matches. Southern Illinois will put a 19-2 all-time record up against Evansville, which includes a sweep earlier this season. The Salukis lone MVC and last win was against Wichita St. on Sept. 30.

  • In all matches, Kristie Kemner ranks third in aces (.44 per game) and seventh (3.5 per game) in kill average. Megan Baumstark is tenth (10.18 per game) in assists. The Salukis are sixth (1.50 per game) in ace average.

  • In MVC play, Megan Baumstark ranks sixth (10.83 per game) in assists, while Kristie Kemner is eighth (3.39 per game) in kill average and tenth (3.26 per game) in dig average. SIU is sixth (1.18 per game) in ace average.

  • Kristie Kemner leads the Salukis in kills (326), kills per game (3.51), digs (271), digs per game (2.91), total attacks (875), service aces (41), and aces per game (.44). Jenny Noel leads SIU in block assists (83), total blocks (101), and blocks per game (1.03). Megan Baumstark is the top Saluki in assists (978), and assists per game (10.19). Lindsey Schultz leads in solo blocks (19). Tara Cains leads SIU in hitting percentage (.261).

  • Southern Illinois will host Evansville in the final match of the season on Thursday, November 16, at 7 p.m. in Davies Gym.
