This is the fourth weekly installment of diaries from the 2012 Saluki volleyball team.

St. Louis proved to be a lot of fun. It feels great to travel somewhere so familiar since it's where I'm from. Recognizing all the streets and places around where we're traveling is pretty neat to experience with my team. .

On our way to dinner in St. Louis on Thursday night, everyone practiced their best British accents on the bus. Needless to say, some were better than others. We always seem to find something entertaining to do when we're all together. At dinner we played a memory game incorporating names, towns, and food. Some people proved to have better memories than others, while some struggled with just the pronunciation of Mary Bogdanski's hometown, Mukwonago, which some pronounced "Mookawannagoo.".

It's Game Day on Friday! Breakfast was hot and ready for us in the lobby of the hotel and it was a great way to start the day. Winning our first game of the tournament against South Alabama was a wonderful way to spend Laura Thole's and my birthday. We celebrated her 21st and my 20th birthday that night with some cake and more laughter.

Saturday was full of great volleyball. The team played hard and focused as we beat SLU and Valparaiso. Our serving was spot on and we executed our game plan to get two wins that day. After our final match, we were presented with a plaque for being tournament champions! Alysia Mayes was also awarded tournament MVP and Laura Thole and Bailey Yeager were all-tournament selections. Everyone played great this weekend and it was definitely a team effort..

On the way home on the bus, the team ate Chipotle and watched Space Jam to end the weekend of hard work.

It was a great weekend to be a Saluki! GO DAWGS!
