Debbie Burris' basketball career ends

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois University senior guard Debbie Burris has decided to end her basketball career after battling back problems since January.
Burris, who started all 32 games a year ago as a junior college transfer, averaged 8.3 points and 1.9 rebounds, leading the Salukis in 3-pointers with 53.
"I appreciate her contribution to our program," Saluki head coach Dana Eikenberg said.
Burris will continue her education, on pace to graduate this year.
