Saluki women's tennis earns a Senior Day sweep over Bradley, 7-0

Carbondale, Ill.-The Southern Illinois women's tennis team gave its seniors one last victory at home with a sweep of the Bradley Braves, 7-0 Sunday at SportsBlast.
The Salukis won all three doubles matches and all six singles matches en route to a sweep of the Braves.
"We had a strong weekend and enjoyed playing at home,"Head coach Audra Nothwehr said. "We showed improvement in doubles play and we are ready for the conference tournament next weekend."
Fadzai Mawisire claimed her 20th victory of the season, moving her into sole possession of 4th place on SIU's most career wins in a spring season, with wins at No. 1 doubles with partner Ame Blacketer and at No. 1 singles.
Mawisire defeated Nicole Miller in No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-3.
Ame Blacketer also wrapped up her SIU career with two wins defeating Nicole Miller and Emily Regenold at No. 1 doubles, 8-3, whole defeating Regenold at No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-4.
Andrea Courtney was also recognized before the match, but did not play.
"The seniors led the team well both on the court and in the classroom and we are really going to miss them next season," Nothwehr said.
The Salukis will wrap up their season beginning on Friday as they travel to Omaha, Neb. to start play in the Missouri Valley Conference tournament.
