Herron Earns Swimmer of the Week for Second Consecutive Meet

CARBONDALE, Ill. – Senior Olivia Herron has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon. This is the second time in the past three weeks that Herron has earned this title, as she also won on October 15.
"Another well deserved honor for Olivia early in this 2025-26 season," says head coach Geoff Hanson. "She continues to lead the MVC at the national level and her best is definitely in front of her this year."
Over the weekend, Herron and the Saluki were in action for a women's only meet against Illinois and Illinois State. In all four individual meets that Herron competed in (the 200-yard breaststroke, 100-yard IM, 100-yard breaststroke, and 200-yard IM), the Manchester, England, native came in first. She also set a personal best in the 100-yard IM. Additionally, Herron competed in two relay events for the Salukis, helping win the 400-yard medley relay and set three pool records at Illinois' ARC Pool.
Herron has now been named MVC Women's Swimmer of the Week eight times throughout her career.
SIU and Herron are back at it on November 13 when they host the three-day A3 Performance Invite.
