How it Happened
First Half
While Drake controlled much of possession to start the first half, both teams managed to put a couple shots on frame by the halfway mark, with Miller and her Drake counterpart saving everything that came their way.
With just about 15 minutes left in the half, Drake had a golden opportunity to strike first on a breakaway, but Miller made the big-time save to preserve the scoreless game. SIU managed to put one more shot on goal in the closing minute of the first half, but Drake's goalie once again made the save to send the teams into the break tied 0-0.
Second Half
The scoreless tied lasted just 3:15 into the second half, with Drake opening the scoring and taking the lead in the 49th minute. Following that opening goal, neither team put anything on net until the 74:42 mark when Latenser saw her attempt saved.
Miller added another save to her tally in the 84th minute, as did the Drake keeper less than a minute later. That was the last save Drake had to make in the game, as the clock eventually ticked down to zero, clinching the Bulldogs' 1-0 defeat of the Salukis.
