Jonny Rigby begins his first season as a graduate assistant for the Saluki tennis program. A native of Lancashire, England, he was a four-year letter winner for SIU from 2013-16. During his SIU career, he played primarily at No. 1 singles from his sophomore through his senior season, and was named All-Conference for four years. He posted a 78-37 career singles record and 66-32 career doubles mark. Rigby was a two-time ITA All-Academic Team member and three-time MVC Scholar-Athlete team honoree. At SIU Rigby is No. 2 all time for combined singles and doubles wins and is the all time leader for most doubles wins. He was MVC Player of the Week 5 times and was awarded MVC Post Graduate Scholarship. Rigby was also a recipient of ITA/Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship Award.

Prior to SIU, Rigby was the No. 1 singles player in Lancashire county and the No. 6 singles player in all of England in the under-18 division rankings by LTA/AEGON. He advanced to the final 16 at Wimbledon in the national "Road to Wimbledon" 14-and-under tournament.
