Men's Cross Country Gets Third At Illinois State Invitational

NORMAL - The Southern Illinois University men's cross country team placed third out of five teams at the Illinois State Invitational on Friday.
Sophomore Doron Giat led the Salukis once again, placing fourth out of 38 runners with a time of 25 minutes, 25 seconds in the 8,000 meter race. SIU finished with 54 points, behind front-runner Illinois State (30) and Northern Iowa (40), and ahead of Danville Community College (114) and Bradley (141).
Freshman Eli Baker added another top-10 time, clocking in at 26 minutes, 13 seconds. Trapper Pressler (11th, 26:25), Joe Zeibert (15th, 26:38) and Ryan Hauser (16th, 26:45) rounded out the Salukis' top-five.
Other SIU finishers included Steve Murray (18th, 26:59), Steve Orange (20th, 27:10) and Tony LaChiana (22nd, 27:18).
