CARBONDALE, Ill. - Ryann Gilley has signed a national letter of intent to play women's golf for the 2011-12 season, head coach Diane Daugherty announced Tuesday.
Gilley is a senior at Homewood-Flossmoor High School where she has been a member of the varsity golf team since 2007, advancing to the state tournament from 2008-10.
In 2010, Gilley helped her team place second in Class AA where she finished 32nd overall with a 165. Her career round low is a 69, which she shot during the Blue Conference tournament in 2009.
Gilley has close ties with SIU as she is the cousin of current Saluki player Margaret Gilley.
"Ryann is a great addition to the Saluki golf family and comes in already very familiar with the program," Daugherty said.
Gilley is the first signee for the 2011-12 season.
