The Southern Illinois baseball team continues its nine-game road stretch with a mid-week trip to Arkansas State on Wednesday afternoon. The game is set to start at 4 p.m.

Southern Illinois travels to Arkansas State for a 4 p.m. game on Wednesday, March 15. The game was originally scheduled for Tuesday, March 14, at 6 p.m. but was moved due to the snow in Jonesboro over the weekend.
The Salukis lead the all-time series with Arkansas State, 47-24. SIU lost both games last year, a 1-0 10-inning game in Jonesboro and a 7-1 loss in Carbondale.
The Salukis rank 23rd in the NCAA in stolen bases with 28. Nobody else in the MVC has more than 13 this year. SIU has attempted 37 steals this year, twice as many as anyone else in the league.
SIU has three of the top four base stealers in the league (Connor Kopach, Ryan Smith and Greg Lambert). SIU also has five of the top 14 base stealers in the league (Will Farmer and Nick Hutchins).
Connor Kopach (8) and Greg Lambert (7) rank 1-2 in the Missouri Valley Conference in doubles. Both rank in the top-40 nationally.
As a team, the Salukis have 30 doubles, which ranks second in the MVC.
Since the start of the 2015 season, Southern Illinois has turned 130 double plays in 130 games, the most in the Missouri Valley Conference in that span.
This year, SIU has turned 15 double plays in 15 games, a mark that leads the MVC.
The Salukis have played five-straight one-run games, going back to a 3-2 win over Western Illinois on March 5. The Salukis are 2-3 in those games.
