CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois Women's Golf finishes its fall action with a trip to the Powercat Invitational Monday, Oct.20, in Manhattan, Kan. The teams will play 36 holes on Monday, and 18 on Tuesday. The tournament, hosted by Kansas State, includes Missouri Valley Conference foe Bradley. Colbert Hills Golf Course is the site of the event, a course which also hosted the SIU Men's Golf team in September.
SIU will bring five golfers: Hannia Gastelum, Ella Overstreet, Kayla Sayyalinh, Calli Smith and Amelia Zingler.
Sayyalinh has led the Salukis in each of the first three tournaments of the season, last shooting a 219 at the Lady Red Wolves Classic, a career-low for the junior.
The forecast predicts sunny weather over the two days, with highs of 72°F and 66°F, respectively. Winds will be a factor, with speeds up to 25 miles per hour.
